Zambezi Fishing Safari
Southern African Safaris offers safe, secure fishing safaris under personal supervision of experienced Zambezi Guides.
Safaris are offered all year round, with emphasis on the African spring, September, October and November for taking on the challenging Tiger Fish. Pound for pound, the Tiger fish is the most ferocious freshwater game fish in the world.
Accommodation is at Island View Lodge, with accommodation for up to 12 anglers in either private or adjoining chalets. The lodge is situated 10 meters from the waters edge on the banks of the mighty Zambezi, in the eastern Caprivi upstream from Victoria falls, about 36km downstream from Katima Mulilo.
This stretch of the upper Zambezi is well known for its excellent Tiger and Bream fishing, as well as its abundance of wildlife fauna and flora.
Each morning after coffee and biscuits, guests hit the water. Well equipped boats get the keen anglers to the choice fishing spots, and a few hours are spent pitting wits and skills against the ferocious Tigers. Then back to camp for a hearty breakfast, and relax until early afternoon, with perhaps a swim in the pool.
After the heat of midday has passed it is back to the boats and water, to seek a re-match against those brutal Tigers.
